All Hail Efrain Tapia, TRG’s “King of the Month!”

He’s our tireless “Rajah of Receiving” who makes sure things operate smoothly and smartly, and he’s a guy who certainly has a way with a crown.  That cape ain’t too shabby, either. But to be serious: Efrain is a huge asset to everything we do at TRG and our full-service warehouse and logistics operation, and a good teammate — that smile you see in the picture isn’t for the camera, but is a permanent fixture for co-workers and customers. His good humor, spirit and get-to-it attitude are infectious…and that’s why he’s our “King of the Month!

The Jammer Coat and Capturing Personal Data

Austrian architecture firm Coop-Himmelblau has designed a Snuggie-like piece of clothing that jams the wearer’s phone, effectively rendering him invisible. The Jammer Coat shields the phone from wireless signals, so the device becomes undetectable to things like search engines or tracking software, and there’s no way for anyone to pull credit card information. When we came across this story on Mashable, it seemed very sci-fi — something ripped from the pages of a William Gibson novel, or an unused costume prop from Minority Report.  But considering that science fiction has segued into everyday hard truth, and that the William Gibsons of 20 years ago are Read More

7 Tips for an Effective Sweepstakes

From a strategic or even creative standpoint, a program like this McCormick & Schmick sweepstakes we did at TRG may not look like much.  But there’s a lot going on beneath the icy-cool surface of this particular promotion.  So just what are the best practices involved in a solid online sweepstakes program?

Doing “Wincredible” Work for Bazooka Joe!

They’re called “threshold” sweepstakes, and here’s the latest — a program TRG is doing right now for Bazooka Joe! To drive sales of the inimitable bubble gum and help build its user community, we worked with the client to deliver a truly “Wincredible Sweepstakes” where codes — available on packaging or via mail-in — are entered at the promotion site.

9 Ways to Gather Live Event Metrics

Getting at the ROI of an experiential event like a corporate meeting, conference, product launch, retail event, media event, mobile tour or street team deployment has been a longtime challenge, and the definition of “return” can vary by category or product.  But there’s not a lot of mystery around how to gather data — and with the advent of mobile, there are more options than ever for marketers to gather useful information from their trade show booth, mobile tour, experiential stunt or other live activation.

And now, a word from our interns…

Meet our SoCal Gas Mobile Tour Trailer!

It was pretty much like Christmas morning around TRG this past Friday, as we rushed out to open up our big new present: the SoCal Gas Solar Water Heating education tour trailer, the mainstay of a summerlong experiential mobile tour, which pulled into TRG for its initial shakedown! We not only checked over the brand new trailer and all its features, but also conducted a training day with our exceptionally-sharp cadre of tour managers and brand ambassadors who’ll be accompanying the unit as it crisscrosses Southern California over the next few months, spreading the word about how to conserve energy, Read More
