"3rd Rock From the Sun" Affiliate Marketing Promotion

OVERVIEW

Carsey Werner offered local station affiliates the opportunity to participate in an exclusive turn-key on-line promotion giving viewers the chance to enter into a sweepstakes to win at chance at $100,000 and instantly win 3rd Rock From The Sun licensed merchandise.

TRG created an online "scratch off" game card, which generated excitement and tune-in to 3rd Rock From the Sun during the April 26 - May 23, 2001 television Sweeps period and offered Affiliates the opportunity to secure local ad sales by offering advertisers the ability to sponsor the online promotion.

To reinforce the weekly show themes, the creative of the home page changed each week to reflect weekly themes. Banners were changed daily to inform viewers of that day's episode.

RESULTS

Our promotion was so successful and well received that it was duplicated three more times. Carsey Werner eDistribution provided similar programs to Earthlink, eUniverse and Windows Media. Each online service provider received their own unique prize pool including a $100,000 grand prize winner.
