Karlina Van Adelsberg
Executive Vice President, Operations
Meet our EVP of Operations, Karlina. She’s been a part of the team for over 20 years and is one of our most vital assets at TRG. Affectionately called “La Reina” at the office, Karlina knows what it takes to be a good leader. She understands that in order to spur individual and company growth–while also making sure everything is running smoothly–it is pertinent to address everyone’s concerns and ideas.
How did you first learn about TRG?
I used to work at Trimark Pictures (now Lionsgate) and Patti Regan was a vendor of ours. I left Trimark 23 years ago to work for Patti because I could tell right of the bat that she had great creative vision and such a knack for marketing and I knew I wanted to be a part of her team. I always say, “that woman could sell ice to an eskimo.”
What are 3 words to describe TRG?
Innovative, creative, and solution-oriented.
What do you like most about your job and TRG?
The flexibility and family atmosphere.
Do you have an office nickname?
Kar or La Reina (aka queen).
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
What are your three most overused words/phrases?
“LOL”, “coolio”, “we got some work to do”
What advice would you give to recent new hires?
Be a sponge and ask questions! Don’t be afraid to ask if you don’t understand or to speak up if you have a better idea.
What does true leadership mean to you?
Being a good listener and noticing when someone is struggling in their role. When someone else is struggling, everyone is struggling because it affects the company as a whole. Listening to everyone’s concerns is a vital aspect of being in a leadership role.
