M&C Saatchi and the Curacao Tourism Board came to TRG to run the Caribbean island’s biggest American sweepstakes ever: a chance to participate in a $500,000 hunt for hidden treasure!
TRG executed an online sweepstakes that lasted 70 days, with a new prize winner every day! Each daily prize winner received an all-expenses-paid luxury trip for two to Curacao, complete with airfare, hotel, and spending money. Best of all, at the end of the promotion, ten additional sweepstakes winners won a trip to Curacao for the chance to participate in a hunt for Curacao’s $500,000 hidden treasure, as ten winners followed a series of clues throughout the island to find the proper key that unlocked the grand prize treasure chest!
- The sweepstakes was supported online at www.curacaotreasure.com, as well as through TV, direct mail, and web banners
- Print advertisements for the sweepstakes appeared in magazines such as Travel & Leisure and Food & Wine
- Additional support came from an iPhone App (the Caribbean’s first!) that allowed consumers to bury their own treasure on a Curacao beach and challenge a friend to find it
- TRG handled all project management, rules and regulations, registration and bonding, winner selection and notification, trip fulfillment and on-site island execution of the Curacao Treasure Hunt
Results? Over 500,000 people entered the Curacao Hidden Treasure sweepstakes, and TRG fulfilled 80 trips to Curacao, including the 10 finalists.
